The Review!

We had a ton of fun testing this set out. Let’s beat around the bush no longer, here is the review of the famed all clad 9-piece set.

✔️ All-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 9-Piece Cookware Set

Upon taking it out of the box, we were amazed at the beauty and simplicity of this set. It looks so ordinary and unassuming; you would never know that it is a dream of so many cooks to own such a set. That is something that can only be learned from doing.

large stock pot, stockpot stainless steel

Before we get to that, here is a taste of what comes in this set: a 2-quart covered saucepan, one sauté pan measuring in at 3 quarts with cover included, a frying pan measuring 10 inches in diameter, and a 3-quart casserole pan with cover. To tell you the truth, my favorite piece was the stockpot, which holds 6 quarts. The lids, by the way, are great. They help lock in the flavor, which was perfect for our beef stew.

The set felt comfortable and sturdy as I held it in my hands. The strength of these pieces is easy to feel and see. We noted the stainless-steel handles on the sides of the pans and wondered if they got hot when in use. They do not — they stay cool! I still use an oven glove just to be safe, though.

Although you cannot see it, the construction of these pans is really something else. They manage to combine functionality with a beautiful outer layer. The material used to craft these is high grade 18/10 stainless steel.

This pan is stick-resistant; you won’t need to use a lot of oil or butter to cook. The pans are also resistant to corrosion and staining which you sometimes get with lesser cookware. The craftsmanship on these pans is truly remarkable. It should be noted that these pans come with a lifetime warranty against any defects.

It helps to have a little extra peace of mind.

The pans themselves perform extremely well, and they are designed for plenty of use. They have a three-ply construction: two layers of stainless steel plus a thick aluminum center that will ensure heat gets spread evenly across the bottom of the pan as well as up the side. So, if you are making soup, rest assured it will get nice and hot!

fried potato, fried potato slices

We know this for a fact after the aforementioned beef stew. The stockpot ensured we were left full and with plenty of leftovers to take home. Sautéing the onions, mushrooms and beef right in the stock pot was a cinch. The carrots and potatoes, added later, ended up tender and warm.

Another great perk I would like to mention about this pure stainless-steel cookware set is that it is oven-safe up to 500 degrees. This was a blessing when we made Swedish meatballs, as it was so convenient to pop the pan into the oven to keep the food warm.

We also made some other classic recipes, such as spaghetti sauce with the saucepan and omelets in the frying pan. Everything went well, as the pans seem to operate best on medium heat. That’s one bone I would pick with these pans; sometimes you just need high heat, such as when you are making a stir-fry.

Another thing I did not particularly care for about this set of all clad stainless-steel pans is that the lids simply did not stay cool. It’s good that I wear oven gloves when I cook because those lids were very warm even through my glove! Do keep that in mind when you use these.

Putting that aside, I’d still say this is an excellent all-clad cookware set. It will hold up under extensive use but does require some care to stay in top shape. It is definitely a top-quality product for passionate home cooks.

Care of the All-Clad Tri-Ply Set

An all-clad stainless-steel cookware set this beautiful requires a little bit of care on your part. Here’s how to care for it.

To clean each piece, just use warm soapy water. They can go into the dishwasher, but it is advised you hand-wash them. Be sure you wash them as soon as they cool, as any food film left behind can stick or cause the pans to discolor.

The best way to clean up your pans is to use a product known as Bar Keeper’s Friend; this is a stainless-steel polish that works wonders and makes the pans look as shiny as day one. All you need is a soft sponge or cloth. Put some of the BKF on the cloth until it reaches a soupy and pasty consistency. Rub it in a circular motion over the pan, and then use water to rinse it away.

One thing to note is that if your water has a high iron concentration, you might see some rusty discolorations on your cookware. BKF gets rid of that in no time.
