Indoor grill pans for electric stove are in the rage right now. Because it’s easy to use with no learning curve, people have been converting to non-stick grill pans on electric stove. Of course, not all grill pans are created equal.

With the hundreds to thousands of grill pans for electric stove being sold online during this time, I’m sure not all of them have the same good quality. Because of this, I’ll discuss what things we should look for in grill pans that we are thinking of buying.

First, make sure that the grill pan is electric stove or induction cooker compatible. Over the past years, people have been making the shift from gas to electric stoves. More modern homes now feature more electric appliances, including the electric stove. For this reason, we should make sure that the cooking equipment used would be compatible to the electric stove.

Next, it would be a plus if it is a non-stick grill pan on an electric stove. This would mean less use of oil or butter, if at all. Aside from that, this would save users from the hassle of repeatedly scratching the grill pan to scrape off the food item, possible ruining the food and dish.

Speaking of scratching, another feature of great grill pans is that they are scratch-proof. This means they can withstand the scratching and scraping of cooking tools whenever they are used to mix the food or move them around. Of course, for safety reasons, great grill pans should have heat-resistant handles, so we can still use the handles to maneuver the grill pan even though it is hot or on the stove.

Although the handle should not be hot, the grill pan should be!

Grill pans with great quality should be able to retain heat to properly cook the food. There should also be even conduction of heat on the whole surface of the grill pan so that the food cooks evenly. We don’t want an undercooked food, or worse, an unevenly cooked food.

Lastly, the sides of the grill pan should be high enough to prevent food or juices from spilling and making a mess. This would also prevent oil or other liquids to spray out of the grill pan. Yikes!

For other details and features, it would really depend on the user and what he or she prioritizes. In this article, we will delve in to the land of grill pans and review in greater detail the features, pros, and cons of each item.

✔️ Zyliss Cookware Non-stick Grill Pan

Now, let’s get on to what you’re waiting for- the grill pans! First off, we have this 10-inch nonstick grill pan from Zyliss. This square grill pan features a smooth ground stone appearance with some horizontal ridges at the bottom. The smooth ground stone appearance would look really cool on your tabletop. It reminds me of things you would see in sophisticated modern homes.

The ridges would help the fat and juices drip off from the meat, which means the juices could be saved for the broth or sauce later. Talk about dual purpose! It also features a non-stick guarantee for 10 years, which means it is really durable! Another component to this grill pan is its ergonomic handle, which is soft to touch and comfortable to use. What’s more is that it is resistant to heat while cooking.

No heat burns from this one!

As you cook different kinds of food items, like eggs, vegetables, or even meat, this grill pan boasts of a nonstick surface that doesn’t need oil or butter for the food being cooked to not stick to the surface. This one is a non-stick grill pan for electric stove, and you can buy a lid from any online retailer too so that this becomes a grill pan with lid.

If you’re looking for a grill pan that’s a multi-tasker, then look no further! This grill pan is oven safe, so you can use this both for grilling and baking. While cooking your food, you won’t need to buy any more extra cooking equipment from your kitchen, since metal cooking tools are fine to use with this.

The grill pan’s surface coating is durable and can withstand the scratching and scraping of the metal cooking tools. Are you worried if this is induction cooker compatible? You can breathe a sigh of relief as this is induction safe. For this grill pan, I really like that it’s free from PFOA.

PFOA stands for perfluorooctanic acid, and it is usually used on surfaces of cooking pans to make them non-stick. However, PFOA poses some health concerns when used. Because the Zyliss cookware non-stick grill pan is PFOA free, this means that you can still enjoy its non-stick feature without thinking if the materials used would pose a health threat on you. Win-win!

Pros:

  • A non-stick guarantee for 10 years
  • A ground stone appearance that would look good on your tabletop
  • Safe on both electric stove and induction cooker
  • Safe on gas – meaning you can still use it on the traditional stove top
  • Safe in the oven, even up to 356 oF!
  • Handle has a rubber casing, which won’t transfer the heat and is safe to use
  • Rubber handle contoured to fit hand comfortably
  • Ridges for the juices and fat to drip from the meat while grilling
  • Coated with 3 layers of PFOA-free and enforced ceramic coating, making it sturdy
  • Metal utensil safe
  • Dishwasher safe- easy to clean!

Cons:

  • Heavy for its size
  • Some users commented it leaving black specks on food after months of usage
  • One user remarked about the handle getting slightly wobbly after a few months

✔️ Cooksmark Copper Pan Non-stick Deep Square Grill Pan

Next up on our list is another 10-inch square grill pan, now made by Cooksmark, The Best Copper Pan. This sleek grill pan on electric stove is a beautiful copper in color on the inside surface, with black lining the outside and a silver handle. It makes the grill pan look high quality, and would also look great displayed on the table top. On the side, the brand name of the maker, Cooksmark, is seen.

The brand name is also engraved on the silver handle.

Seriously, this grill pan is so aesthetically pleasing for me. I usually use this for pastries, pancakes, sandwiches, and quesadillas. They come out evenly heated plus they’re pretty to look at! You don’t need another plate to serve the food.

Use this as your plate to serve your dish (when it has already cooled down, of course), and your guests will be busy snapping pictures of it to post on Instagram. It would be a nice addition to your well-curated food feed, like it did on mine. Love the idea!

Moving on, the ridges are prominent for when you cook meat. The surface features a copper lining, making this grill pan durable and scratch-resistant. It features a Maxlon ceramic coating, making it highly nonstick. This eliminates the need for oil or butter. It is free from lead and cadmium, two toxic minerals we wouldn’t want near our food because even small amounts can cause poisoning. This means we’re sure the food we’re cooking is safe to it.

Another thing I like about this grill pan is that it features an aluminum core, meaning it can heat up easily even by using less energy than a standard grill pan. Yes, to energy savings! This grill pan is multi-functional: aside from the electric stove, it can also be used in traditional gas stoves or even ovens up to 350 oF. However, a downside is that it can’t be used with induction cookers since it’s not compatible.

With cleaning, I appreciate that it’s easy to clean– just wipe it and all the gunk will be gone. If you’re too lazy to hand wash the grill pan, it can be put in the dishwasher since it’s dishwasher compatible. This is a plus to people having lazy days.

For the handle, it features a silver stainless steel one which are dual riveted. What I don’t like about this is that stainless steel can relatively heat up when exposed to heat for a prolonged period of time as compared to rubber.

This makes it unsafe to hold the grill pan after cooking or baking for a long time. Always remember to use an oven mitten or something to protect your hands. Lastly, the handle features a hole, so this grill pan can be hung after use or after washing. Super convenient indeed!

Pros:

  • Maxlon ceramic coating for a nonstick surface
  • Lead and cadmium free surface, making it very safe
  • Copper and black in color- stylish and would look good on the tabletop
  • Safe on the electric stove
  • Safe on gas
  • Safe in the oven up to 350 oF
  • Dishwasher compatible

Cons:

  • Not compatible with induction cooker
  • Several users commented that the coating on top and at the bottom chips after using
  • Some users said that the handle is hard to use
  • One user remarked that the grill pan dents easily

✔️ Cooks Standard Hard Anodized Non-stick Square Grill Pan

Clear the way for our third contender! This is the indoor grill pan on electric stove that has no frills, no fuss, and all function. This grill pan is made by Cooks Standard. It is 11 inches, making this grill pan slightly larger than the previous two. This is good for people looking for a bigger grill pan.

It is a classic black that would fit right in with other kitchen appliances in a minimalist or modern home. The ridges help the juices drip from the meat and make great grill marks on steak. I like cooking meat with this, especially steak and bacon.

The meats would come out juicy and evenly cooked. I can even cook vegetables and other side dishes around the meat- what an energy saver! This grill pan also features a silver handle with a hole for hanging like the previous grill pan.

For me, a great feature of this grill pan is its ridges.

These ridges make great grill marks and don’t affect the evenness of the cooking of meat. This is also due to the heavy gauge aluminum core feature, distributing the heat more uniformly across the grilling pan’s surface.

This grilling pan also features a hard, anodized surface for durability, and it is said to be harder than stainless steel. Amazing, right? Of course, there’s non-stick coating on the surface so there won’t be any need for oil or butter.

The grill pan works on an electric stove, but it is also compatible on traditional gas, ceramic, or halogen. It is also safe for ovens up to 500 oF, a higher temperature than what the previous two can handle. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with induction cookers.

This grill pan is also easy to wash and you can prefer using hand wash or dishwasher. I personally like wiping it down with a sponge and washing it by hand.

For the handle, it features a stainless steel one which can be relatively uncomfortable to hold and use compared to a rubber handle. It also has a hole which can be used to hang it when not in use.

Pros:

  • Non-stick coating for a non-stick surface
  • Hard anodized surface making it durable and long-lasting
  • Safe on the electric stove
  • Safe on gas, ceramic, and halogen
  • Safe in the oven up to 500 oF
  • Users applauded its sturdiness

Cons:

  • Materials used for the nonstick coating not specified
  • Heavy material
  • Not compatible with induction cooker
  • Handle can be hard to use

✔️ Cuisinart CI30-23CR Chef’s Classic Enameled Cast Iron Square Grill Pan

I will now feature the last, but definitely not the least, of the grill pans in this round of face-off. This is a Cuisinart creation measuring 9 and ¼ inches, a small grill pan for electric stove. Perfect for those looking for something a bit smaller to use. It has a black surface and is red on the outside with a red handle, perfect for people who want a statement from their cooking equipment.

When you open the link, you can see that it features other colors, namely black and blue. I like that you can pick what color would match your kitchen and your home. I personally picked the red one because it went well with my other equipment, but it’s great that you have the choice of color! The black looks smooth and has a bit of a marble or ground effect, making it look elegant.

What makes this grill pan stand out from the others is its indentation on one side, making it so much easier to pour out food and liquid or juices with less mess and less unfortunate disasters happening.

This cast-iron grill pan on electric stove has a porcelain enameled interior, allowing it to heat up evenly and quickly, so you won’t have to wait for a long time before it starts cooking your food. The cast iron also helps retain heat for a long time so you’re sure you won’t eat undercooked food.

The surface is non-stick and won’t absorb the flavors from the food, avoiding contamination. It can be used both in the electric stove and oven, making it handy. It is dishwasher compatible so clean-up won’t be a problem.

For the handle, it is a wide cast iron one. This helps in securing the grip for the grill pan. I don’t like the handle because I have tiny hands so I have a hard time gripping it. However, if you don’t have small hands like me, then this one is for you!

Pros:

  • Indentation on one side to make it easier to pour
  • Non-stick coating for a non-stick surface
  • Safe on the electric stove
  • Safe in the oven up to 500 oF
  • Available in different colors

Cons:

  • Materials used for the nonstick coating not specified
  • Compatibility for gas and induction cooker not specified
  • Maximum temperature for the oven not specified
  • Some users commented that it chips on top and at the bottom after a few uses
  • Handle can be hard to use

Conclusion

And that’s it for our round-up of grill pans! These grill pans on electric stove have been highly rated by a good number of customers so you’re sure they’re good. It’s just a matter of knowing what suits you. All in all, I like that this is a versatile product.

You can use the grill pan for electric stove inside the comfort of your own house and use it as either a grill or a pan- twice the fun! We hope we helped you make a decision on which grill pan for electric stove to get. I swear you won’t regret it!
