This cookware is built to last and is perfect for busy families like yours and mine. I have children and a spouse who need me. We do not have time to be messing around with cookware that chips or warps easily. Certainly, this Simply Calphalon set is an investment.
But when you can just use them and then even pass them down to your kids when they grow up and leave the nest, it all becomes worth it. One of my Calphalon pans gave out nearly after 10 years of service. It was a wedding shower gift years ago and I never looked back, so I did the sensible thing and went for another one.
What’s So Great About Simply Calphalon Cookware?
Simply Calphalon non-stick cookware pieces are sought after and it’s one of the most popular brands out there. They are made of high-quality materials that last a good long time. They are seen as one of the most reputable in the whole cookware industry!
The materials are super durable, and you will love this because you will be using it all the time. Since this stuff is non-stick, you can avoid using too much oil or butter to cook your family’s food. In this sense, it is a health benefit to your family!
Our top 4 Calphalon cookware review
When we first pulled this set of Simply Calphalon pans out of the box, we were struck by how sleek and cool they looked. They are made of hard-anodized aluminum, which means that durability that Calphalon is famous for.
I also noted that the inside of the pans was coated with the non-stick coating that keeps food from sticking to the sides. Spoiler alert: this stuff really works, as evidenced by our test meal! One thing I also want to point out is that this particular set is not dishwasher-safe, which can be a huge turnoff for some interested people.
In this set we got an 8-inch omelet pan, 1-qt saucepan (covered), 10-inch omelet pan, 2-qt saucepan (covered), 3 qt sauté pan (covered), 6-qt stock pot (covered), and 4 tempered glass covers.
It’s a pretty good set!
For our test meal, we made up a nice stir fry with chicken, orange sauce out of a packet, and some mixed veggies. Everything went into the large omelet pan and was cooked perfectly. We used a little coconut oil, but not much. Nothing stuck and everything cooked on medium heat like a dream. We even made a little rice in the 2 qt saucepan to go with our meal with great success.
- Comprehensive set has all you need
- Oven safe to 400 degrees; a huge win to keep food warm
- Lids fit snugly
- Cannot use metal utensils with these, as they will scrape non-stick off
- Must clean with Bar Keeper’s Friend to keep them shiny-an additional purchase
- No lids fit 8-inch omelet pan
Here is another great set, and this one is just perfect if you know a young person just starting out or perhaps want to refresh some of your more low-quality pots and pans. The cookware is that same sleek black and is very smooth to the touch.
I especially liked the riveted cast stainless steel handles. They are outfitted with silicone on the handle, so they stay nice and cool when you use them. The glass lids are just great and feature handles placed up high, so you do not need to burn yourself as you remove them or set them aside.
The cookware is oven-safe for up to 400 degrees. If somebody has to work late, or you need to keep some food warm, this is a wonderful way to do it. Everything can stay nice and warm and taste great.
One thing you should know about this particular set is that it is not dishwasher safe. So, be ready to wash these up by hand at the end of the night. You would do yourself a favor to buy the Bar Keeper’s Friend cookware cleanser, as it is the way to keep your pots and pans looking as nice as the day you bought them.
Our test meal for this particular pot and pan set was some homemade mashed potatoes. We used the stock pot to boil the potatoes and then kept them warm in the saucepan when they were done. We had a pot roast in the slow cooker that night. That plus the potatoes made for a really filling meal and we enjoyed the butter melting on the mashed potatoes.
- Silicone on the handles to prevent burns
- Oven safe to 400 degrees
- Lids fit tightly and do not let flavors escape
- One user reported their glass lid cracked during use.
- Cannot use metal utensils with the cookware
- Only includes 8 pieces total.
Some people do not want to use non-stick cookware because it is made with chemicals. This is totally understandable, and you can enjoy the greatness of non-stick cookware with ceramic pieces like this one. It’s eco-friendly, so those of you seeking to go green can rest easy with this great set.
Even though you get that nice ceramic coating on the inside, you can enjoy the super nice aluminum coating on the outside that still heats up the efficient way that Calphalon is known for. Once again, these handles are the cat’s meow. They are ergonomic and oh so nice to hold in your hand, and you won’t get cramps if you have to hold it and stir something up. The tempered glass lids are just as great on this as they are on the other sets we tested out.
Our test meal here was some hamburgers that we eventually made into cheeseburgers. I formed the patties and cooked them on the large 11-inch griddle. I then put a cheese slice on each burger and covered it with the lid to help the cheese melt better. It turned out well and my family liked eating their burgers!
We also had dessert that evening using the 2-quart saucepan. I made cook ‘n’ serve pudding that night and it was a breeze to make it that way. The pan stood up to the constant low heat needed to make the pudding. After it chilled, my family loved the sweet taste of the homemade vanilla pudding.
- Comes with a limited 5-year warranty
- Silicone, ergonomically designed handles
- PFOE- and PTFE-free cookware set; no worries about chemicals here!
- Some users reported the inside of the cookware staining.
- Not suitable for use on an induction stove.
- You must only use plastic or rubber utensils to avoid scratching.
Once again, we have a great cookware set for you here, ladies and gents! This one is just like the other set in that it is PTFE- and PFOA-free, so anybody who is worried about chemicals can rest easy. At the same time, you still get to enjoy the great, even heating that is a hallmark of the Calphalon brand. The cookware set looks very trendy and cool when you take it out of the box; it has that nice black aluminum and the lovely white interior which gives it a clean look.
One cool thing about this particular set is that you get a Dutch oven with it. Now that is a really cool addition and perfect for when you want to make holiday chocolates! Our family, for instance, loves making chocolate pretzels with colorful sprinkles to give out to friends at work and in the neighborhood during Christmas.
With a total of 11 pieces, this is a deluxe set perfect for a young person just starting in their first apartment or a married couple that can use a new pot and pan set. Once again, these pots and pans are for hand-washing only, so be prepared to put in a little of that elbow grease when it comes time to clean up.
We tested this set by making French toast on the griddle and using the 10-inch skillet for some hash browns. Everything turned out tasty and delicious! And, nothing stuck.
- Even heating thanks to the aluminum construction.
- Ergonomic handles comfortable to hold
- Lids are snug and fit well.
- Cannot be put into dishwasher.
- Must use only rubber or wooden utensils.
- You cannot store them stacked on top of each other.
